HEST or RC 3. Can't decide..

Well I was wondering about the same thing this week so I ordered the RC3 and was so impressed with it I ordered the HEST today. Guess RCD has claimed another victim.

I personally went with the HEST; couldn't resist the serial numbered version with signed book.

Okay, this is seriously BS. I didn't even consider the HEST at first, but now after reading all these threads on this forum, it's wormed its way into my list.

I think I blame this comment:
Here's the right answer:

Join the RAT pack, get a RAT Pack RC3.
In the mean time, get the HEST.

In trying to get my post count up to join the Rat Pack, I've been exposed to too many good designs. It's ridiculous.

Honestly, if you can afford to buy both, you should - you can feel them both out and then sell the one you like least and probably break even.

OK....... the HEST has arrived. Wonderful.
next on the list is not the RC 3......but the RC 6

every fullfilled wish gives birth to a new one.......

RC-3 IMO then the H.E.S.T. The RC-3 is an amazingly capable knife. Could never ask more from an E.D.C. Also love my Izulas. RAT is the bees knees IMO.:D

I'd go with the RC3-MIL. Far better package as the carry options are far more extensive. The H.E.S.T. to me is a much more specialized tool.

Unanswerable dilemma! :)
Either one is an excellent choice ... but, I got the H.E.S.T.

Not gimmicky. The frills are effective and the basic knife is compact, convenient and exceedingly tough. I rigged it with a tek-lok for vertical carry but I may go back to IWB (Inside the WaistBand) left side crossdraw. It is small enough to be comfortable there.

It works very well with the handle slabs but I could remove them for IWB as I like skeletal handles generally.

On the other hand I could stay with my Izula IWB. Depending on what you EDC for, the Izula might be a reasonable option, also. What can I say? I got both.

Good answer , The HEST is great ,The Izula is what I EDC most but the RC3 is not to be overlooked :D tough call .... I would go 1 of each

I ordered an RC3 Mils and liked it a lot, so much so that I just ordered an Izula as well. Now I think I need an RC-6 or a HEST too! This is addictive.

You really gotta ask yourself:

"Self, how many knives do I need, really?"

Then slap yourself for asking a silly question like that and buy'em all!:D

HEST and the RC-3 are excellent choices and while I have a HEST, an RC-3 will most likely end up in my collection. I can always use an extra blade strapped to a pack or in my vehicle.

I am quickly succumbing to the siren call if the RAT!
