After spending a weekend cooking and eating off of my Hest I'm totally sold.This little blade is one awesome tool.I can't see it being far from my side for long anymore.

I was one of those guys with the F1, but after using your hest a few of times I definately would like to add one to the arsenal. it was a very functional knife I enjoyed abuseing yours a bit while we were there.

Can I ask you to elaborate? What could the HEST do that the F1 couldnt?

I was looking at it for different possible uses. Maybe even a police duty knife over the RC3

What kind of wood is that you are batoning the notch in for the hearth board?

Someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe it was poplar. Both the spindle and the board.
