hey ferrous

no i havent!
i cant figure out tessu, but of course, every dictionary has its own way to spell stuff over here.
it looks like tetsu, which means iron.
is that close ?

I'll have a pic of one by this evening, which I will email to you. I got stuck with Kid duty last night so the wife could go out and have some fun. She owes me this afternoon to work while she kid-watches! I have the stock, some initial measurements have been made, got the protractor out to make the correct angles (I may make a 'pusher' template to ensure an accurate grind angle and depthe each time.

I recently was introduced to templates by a woodworking friend, and it is the best way to make consistent sets of anything.

I'll email you a pic tonight. (well, tomorrow for you, I guess).

Thanks!

Keith

P.S. Tessu, tetsu--either of you seen Tetsuo, the Iron Man? the movie is like one long NIN video or D Kronenberg's bad trip, er sumthin.

its 4:30 am, and i didnt get much sleep these past 2 nights, so im just going to throw these out there,

the most common reference im seeing for tessu on google is for dogs with human characteristics, ala a wherewolf....
(i assume your not taking it from a characters name from a book/pc game/movie)

one small reference i saw was also to a flower wich can be used for a color dye....

so, demon wherewolf?

regardless, its a mighty cool sounding name

Yeah, you can't bait us like that and then leave us hangin'

Danny, I will send the pic today, after my bro gets home from work. If I had my own digi cam....

Keith

Ferrous, why dont you just make them all single pointers like in the pic.
it will be easier and faster and single point is ok with me too.

that'll be fine with me, but I really want you to be happy with the final, not just 'settling' fer the finals.

So, Ikku Ryu no, Katori Shinto ryu yes? You are the paying customer, after all.

type, so you'll have the best of both styles in your size...the heavier and the slightly less heavy!

After holding the proto in a few grips and uh 'testing the point integrity,' these things are wonderful in the hand. Kind of like a SERIOUS kubotan.

Doubles as a prybar, and easily could have other uses like binding doors shut, making a makeshift ladder by pounding a few 'rungs' into wood or stone(!), use as a wedge, scribing stylus, hammer, lock breaker, small club (a la tanto na ichi (sic), handle for old style drill, can opener, you name it. I'm learning a lot just my making the proto and testing its durability.

6 of one, half dozen of the other sounds like a wonderful plan.
They really are wonderful little tools, arent they?
You should see how a sharp bo shuriken can spice up your throws.
(Somehow a spike going into somebodys neck makes your judo come alive!)

Ferrous, you are really starting to sound like a ninja!
You are not only infected with the ninja virus, id say your transformation is nearly complete.
(that knife shaped club is spelled "tanto naeshi" in the alphabet)

Although many schools lay claim to one type or another in terms of shuriken, in the Bujinkan we use any type, whatever we like.
The kukishin ryu itself describes five different styles, and that is only one of nine schools in the bujinkan, so potentially there are 45 or more different styles we can choose from.
Basically, if it works, then go with it.

im not exactly sure what you guys are talking about, but if you for some reason or a nother find yourself unable to make the transition over the sea,

craftsman centerpunches are pretty close to what i think your describing, with a little grinding down... and their reletively cheap (6$ each)

the one in the pics is the 6" long 1/2" model...

im not sure if they make them bigger...
