Hey guess what happened to my Spyderco Endura

No there not. They stated that they are not themselves which is why some of the lock backs have slight up and down bladeplay since they are NOT adjusted to each other.

That said my lockbar sticks up when the knife is closed about 4mm's and they won't do anything about it when i contacted them. :*(

If you send that in they will replace it for you, however, probably at the $20.

The mismatch between the two knives I dealt with, when swapping blades, went WAY beyond a little blade play. They do allow for 'some' blade play (within limits), but they still have to fall within tolerances to make it out the door.

Wha? 4mm would be the entire lock depth!

I meant on the back end where you press down to release it. and only when the knife is closed. You can see a space between the lockbar and the detent for where you press it to release it. When its open its perfect however. I exaggerated a bit just checked it it is about 2.5mm. Still looks weird, functions perfectly fine, it does however turn me away from spyderco lock backs since to them it is "in acceptable limits".
Ill take a pic.

And about the lock bars being mismatched deal. I'm not saying they aren't but a mod on the spyderco forums specifically said they aren't matched and shaped for each blade, the price would go up a lot if they did that. He could have been wrong though.

If you send it Spyderco for a fix they'll probably just regrind the edge and send it back to you.

Doh, sorry, wrong thread...:D

I'm not doubting that. What I was saying is, they've got to fit within reasonable limits to make it past QC. The mismatch in fit I spoke of, was to the extreme degree shown in your pic above, but instead at the joint between the blade tang & the lock bar. With that much error, there's no way Spyderco would deliberately ship a knife like that. Nor would they likely warranty such a repair that might result in that. This is why it wouldn't be in their best interest to just ship one part (blade or locking bar) without verifying if it fits correctly or not. It makes sense, that any repairs they do on such things (warranty or not), would have to be done at their facility, as opposed to just shipping a blade or lock bar to a customer.
