I have narrowed my search to two, just so you guys know I own the Hinderer XM 18 Spanto, and have other nice knives, I want the:
ZT 562 CF
Reate Horizon C (love the looks but may be a little slippery?)

which one would you guys choose?

Thanks

The 0562cf is very similar to the xm18. It's actually got slightly better ergonomics (thinner and more rounded grip) and packs more cutting edge on the same blade length.

The reate would be more of a change, if you are looking for something different.

I would go for the ZT. It's a really awesome knife and the ZT warranty is fantastic. I am partial to Hinderer's. All the Chinese knives I've had (Kizer, Reate, etc) have been perfectly executed, but I never warmed up to them. There was something mechanical and cold about them and I never carried one more than a day or 2 before I wanted a ZT or Hinderer in my pocket again.

Go for the ZT 562 cf. Mines awesome, got it in anodized bronze from Whitty. I sold my first one, then realized how much I missed it so had to buy it again.

I've had a lot of ZT's and know their quality. Easy answer for me.
I haven't bought one from China (yet), but read good things about the company and that model.
Of course, you can always buy the Reate and if you don't like it...you can sell it pretty quickly on the Exchange here for a small loss.

I would get the ZT, but I have heard good things about Reate.

My main choice was blade steel, the CTS-204P is more exciting to me.

I have ZT0562cf, Hinderer xm-18, and Reate Horizon D cf and lots of other good quality folders. In terms of ergo, I feel the Hinderer is the winner because it fills my hand perfectly. I actually do not like too narrow or too thin handles.

While never handled a Horizon C, I believe it is in identical size as Horizon D. Ergo-wise, I prefer slightly ZT0562 because of the extra finger choil. For blade shape/grind, I prefer Horizon C. As for warranty, Reate is no match with KIA. I believe the price is about the same.

Considering all these factors, I would pick ZT0562cf over Reate Horizon C.

I think I'd have to go with the ZT 0562CF over the Reate Horizon C also. Honestly, the Reate is a little better knife in terms of fit, finish and execution, but it does tend to be a little slick in the hand with the fairly smooth Ti scales. I don't have an 0562CF, but I do have the G10 version and I really enjoy it. You can't go wrong with that model of ZT. I also think the ZT M390/CTS-204P is a significant upgrade over the Reate's S35VN.

A couple things to consider: If you want to experience a Reate without the financial commitment, take a look at a Reate Hills. They can usually be found for around $160 and they're an awesome value at that price point. Also, if you had a little more cash and were comparing the Horizon D in either full Ti or CF arrangement, I'd go Horizon D all day and every day vs. the 0562. The D has the grip that the C lacks and is just a bit better executed knife. Maybe look for a D in a good, used condition.

I continue to be amazed at the quality that some of these imported knives are bringing to the table. Note I said "some"! There's still a lot of imported crap out there too. ;)

Reates are out standing quality, that's what I would go with. They also come with race washers in between the ti and bearings and come with extra screws which are plusses imho.
