My 4K post is on the horizon and to mark the occasion, I've ordered two GEC #47 Vipers in OD green micarta: one for me and one for a giveaway that I plan to host right here in the Traditional forum. Stay tuned and hold fast, me hearties! :emot-yarr:

-Brett

It is my personal opinion that the Traditional Folders and Fixed Blades gang represents the finest folks of the BladeForums community. I can think of no better place to celebrate my 4K post and would like to offer up something special to mark the occasion. So how's about... a Great Eastern Cutlery #47 Viper in Olive Drab Green micarta scales!

I'd like to see the #47 go to a good home, so if you're interested, I have a few rules for this GAW:

-You must be 18yrs old or older (apologies to the younger members, but I wish to avoid an angry parent scenario.)
-You must have 100+ posts in the Traditional sub-forum or have been a member for at least a year.
-Your expression of interest must be a photo or story of your favourite wharncliffe traditional folder (...you don't have to own it! :))
-Only one entry per person so please post only once!
-That's it!

I don't have my Vipers in hand, so this giveaway will close when my order arrives (it has already shipped and will take a week or two to arrive.) I promise I will not crack the tube of the #47 destined for this GAW, so the winner's knife will be pristine from factory unless Customs decides they need to see it... Winner will be selected by random number generator when the order comes it... so y'all have to wait with me! :D

Good luck to all who enter!

My sincere thanks and deep appreciation to all,

Congrats
I would like to participate, but really don't have any wharncliffe knives.
I did want, and still do, to get myself a regular swayback jack, so i could say that would be my favorite wharncliffe, but i don't see that happening quite in the very immediate future.
Still, this is a great giveaway, and i must say people like you make this place what it is.

....
not my favorite, but here is my only wharncliffe blade

First, thanks for a killer giveaway. Very, incredibly generous.

Here is my favorite wharncliffe. It's in the planning stages. I have to wait until I get my big grinder built, my little grinder is so fast it would burn the tip off every time. One day though.

Congrats Brett!!! What a very generous GAW and gorgeous knife .

Please count me in.

My CASE Swayback---like the knife immensely but it hasn't been in my EDC rotation for sometime due being a little on the small side, but I absolutely love the Wharny blade!!!

Thanks, I'm in.

I have the Case cv sbj; but the Viper is probably my fav.

Story: I got the Case as a Christmas present from my daughter. Sometimes it will open a bag of potato chips or a box, trim a thread or slice a carrot. Other times it will sit in my edc box. This is a true story.

The Wharncliffe on my Coffee House Acrylic Saddle Trapper is my Favorite Wharnie' she's always in the top 3 EDC finalists.

I'm in, and thanks for the chance.

Brett, congrats on your 4,000 and your continued contributions to this wonderful forum. Thanks for the chance at a very nice knife.

This 1989 Case WT in green jigged burnt bone was something of a grail knife for me. I come from a hunting background, and have probably used (as in really used) more fixed blade knives than folders, so the copperhead bolster as a guard is something I really like. The bone is terrific as well.

I like canoes, and would like to see one with a main blade wharncliffe and secondary pen. The closest I've found is way too expensive to me, but is still probably the best looking traditional wharncliffe I've seen. The half congress patterns are pretty close too.
Now...if canal street made a cannitler with a wharncliffe main blade...

Thanks for your generous giveaway. I'm in.

This Winchester is my favorite wharncliffe knife.

Brett congrats on 4k, that's quite impressive. What a generous giveaway. Good luck to everyone.

Not an entry.

I've always wanted a Tony bose swayback jack! I would settle for a case collab since couldn't afford his custom. But honestly this Viper is probably my new favorite wharni!
Great giveaway thanks for the chance!

This knife tripped my trigger. First it was the Bladeforums 2012 knife, then the improved trapper from GEC. Seeing this one though, I was just astounded. This knife is awesome, I'm glad to have cases interpretation. Thanks for the chance. I also had a sway back gent and jack but really like this model.

Not a entry but wanted to say thank you for such a great gift for all the great folks on this forum. Also bunch of beautiful knives posted so far love the eye candy.
