Brett,
thank you for your generosity, please consider me in.
Wharncliffe blades (and, more generally, straight blades) have come into my life quite recently, thanks to this forum. Traditional folders in southern Europe are usually clip/drop points, and straight blades are quite uncommon here. yet, thanks to a very generous BF member, I had the chance to try this knife:

which helped me discover the qualities of a wharncliffe. I have found that I prefer straight blades for pull cuts, which represent quite a share of my cutting tasks, and that's why I have loved the SBJ since I started carrying it. Even the handle shape looked quite odd to me (as above, traditional knives in this part of the world have handles that curve towards the front, not backwards), but then I got used to it, and now I like it alot, so much that I chose this frame for my first and only custom slipjoint. With my Oeser I had the chance to discover another thing about these knives; the swayback frame is indeed comfortable in pull cuts, but when it comes to front/push cuts, size begins to matter, and lately I have found that even a small difference in frame length can make the difference (my Oeser is almost 3,5" and yet I feel the change from the SBJ). That's why I would be glad to give the GEC #47 a try

Thanks again for the giveaway and for your enthusiasm and contribution to this forum
Fausto
