I've been working on these on and off for a while now. I finally got one finished. This is my second folder to date and it's the first one I've made in my own shop. I took a class with my good friend and mentor,MS Jon Christensen a few years ago and made my first one there in his shop. I also wanted to say thanks to my other good friends Bing and Ed Caffrey. These three guys really helped me out with getting these folders underway.

Nothing revolutionary or groundbreaking here. I just wanted to make a nice straightforward, practical, working/utility folder. This one is light and slim but still plenty stout for a folder.

Specs:
80CrV2 steel
7" open, 4" closed, 2 7/8" of actual sharp edge, .114" thick
Full distal taper in the blade
Blade has a 800 grit hand sanded finish
Rounded spine
Black g-10 scales
.060" thick titanium liners, jeweled
3/16" hardened steel pivot with titanium pivot screws
Titanium handle scale screws
Good, solid lockup and strong detent retention

Any and all comments, questions, critique and opinions welcome.

John, I totally dig it. No frills, just simple, pragmatic design, and subdued but flowing lines.
Looks to be super well made, too. No surprise there.

Very nice. It's so stark and simple but such a great looking knife. I'm betting that it will continue to look good for years as blade patina and general wear and tear give it more and more character.

Looks absolutely great to me! Interested to see what your 100th folder looks like....;)

John, nicely done my friend.
I see what you were talking about for your mark inside the liner.

You do know your are on a very slippery slope here Pal :D

Thanks for sharing

Thanks guys. I really like this size and shape and will have one very similar in my pocket soon.

Now to add bolsters, clips, and other materials. :)

Thanks again for your comments.

With you being so busy and all.....I would be more than happy to do all the labor intensive testing that needs to be done .....all of this would be at zero cost to you;).........seriously though.....very clean, well thought out and just plain nice

Nice knife. Kudos for rounding the spine, that's not done by many makers on their umpteenth knife, much less their first.

If you add a clip, use a recessed one like Terzuola, Reeve, Dozier, etc. A recessed clip is easier on the palm and makes the knife easier to use.

^^^ Yes. I agree. It takes more work, but a 'bolt on' clip is so rudimentary.

I also like the rounded scale edges. It must feel nice. Sharp edges give registration points, but I'd prefer a softer feel like this.

Me: Any hole without a chamfer is unfinished. A pet peave of mine. 90% of the makers who drill scale material do this. (The whole world is crazy, I'm the only one sane.... ;))

Start easy. Get more complex. Perfect building block. Kudos.
