Agreed. And that’s a shame because it looks like a nice knife. It would be nice to handle and use one, see how Buck stacks up in the modern ‘flipper knife’ market. But for about half that price.

I'd like to see a comparison between the Onset and the Marilla.
The Onset seems sturdy, but the Marilla is a better price point.... And it won Blade Show.

I prefer to be loyal to Buck, and I haven't been too impressed with Cases heat treat lately.

I really wish there were more / nearby brick and morter knife stores that actually stocked decent knives.
Ie. You go into Cabelas and the shelves are empty..... Unless you want imported stuff.

MAP pricing is important to the few knife stores that do exist.
That alone is reason to take the topic of this thread seriously.
They serve us. Lets support and defend them.

Just tonight on Bucks facebook page they were touting the 040 Onset. So far it hadn’t received much attention only a few remarks about the price.
