Just writing a brief message to tell you how great the ZT 0550 is.

















And that I'm really excited for when you (pretty please) release a Blackwashed one.

Or even a limited run of some super duper steel...

Or heck, go buckwild on the dang thing and give it some carbon fiber and a composite blade.

Agreed. I've been collecting a list of features to make a 0555 (awesomeness on a 0550 frame). Sort of akin to your suggestions. I'll take anything really...I just love the 0550.
 
I had a dream Kai came out with a composite 0550 with the same combination of steels as the 0560CBCF. This really did happen, and I loved it. :D
 
I was under the impression that the 0550 was being discontinued. Or rather, put on the "end of life" item list.

I hope not. With the 0350 in M390 coming soon I was really hoping that a 0550 in M390 was a real possibility. My 0551 is my default go to knife on a daily basis. The 0550 series is close to perfection, for me at least.
 
I think the 0550 is a fav for alot of people, and most would be happy with any kind of 0550 at all. I myself love the knife and would buy any version they came out with
 
The ZT 0550/0551 are my second favorite ZTs now after the 0801. The dimensions are near identical with similar MSRP pricing (not street yet). The 0801 gives me Elmax instead of S35VN (in the 0550) with full titanium handles and the best flipper action yet.

Perhaps the days of the 0550 are indeed numbered!

If so, it'd be great to go out with a bang with a 0550CBCF! I'll take two...
 
HAHA I love it. I wish I were here during most of the Thomas W. era, but am grateful to still have updates directly from the company itself. This made my day! Rofl
 
I bet that blackwashed 0550 is going to look awesome! The 0550 is my go-to when I'm expecting some heavy cutting jobs.
