Kelvin, two things i wanted to share with you:
1. i just got in the Knuckles- i bought the Pocket Pal; also the clear plastic; and got the thicker white plastic knuckles...
my God, the Pocket Pal could probably survive a bomb blast- thick and heavy brass, i'm gonna e-mail Mr.Knuckles and ask if i can get one in half the thickness. i had a lanyard hole done in the base; haven't decided how to carry it to access it quickly.
The plastic thicker one is definitely a keeper- you could punch cement with the thing and not show much of a mark...i recall you had commented on them over at Knifeforums; and that brings me to the second point---
2. i noticed in a post over on Knifeforums that somebody named Smoke (i'm assuming it may be our Smoke here) commented on accuracy and using a stick- he mentioned K Williams and Kelt....Gosh, i hope he wasn't referring to me! i know you go at it pretty heavy with the training. As for me, i'm a bit more involved at the present with finishing up my nursing degree while still keeping my foot in the door at the VA so i don't get as much time in as i should (drooping my head in shame).
So i guess the problem is that i don't feel that i'm in the same league as you are!
although i don't mind being mentioned- i sure wouldn't want anybody thinking that i'm anywhere near an expert, y'know? but i thought i'd mention it cause i just found our names when i was browsing over there...
Now, to find out who i can train with around here to get more experience....

Hey KELT,

I like those knucks. I just don't like their price for a something that's probably cast brass. Maybe I'll still buy one.

Yeah, I think it's the same "Smoke". I think he's a moderator on Knifeforums. Hey we're both beginners in the FMA. I've only been doing it for 1.5 years now. What that lady was saying about leaving a stick or ASP on someone after a strike doesn't make any sense to me. Oh well, to each his/her own...

I know that guy, I see him in the mirror all the time.

I'm not a moderator though, that's Don Rearic, Jim March, La Donna, Bram and J Ringo (moderator of the WW2 CQC thread

)

James Piorek likes for me to Moderate his Forum and we are friends. Other then that, I would rather not be troubled with the hassle. Thank God the JSP Forum is not like some of the others where I would have to babysit kids asking about lethal toxins and all manner of nonsense!

I'm not much of a moderate at anything, nothing exceeds like excess at times...I find it a bit smothering at times.

K, Runt was describing a short hammering type of blow, no overswing. It's a penetration thing, lots of karate folks talk about it. If you saw it, it'd make more sense.

Student, I'm moderate and that's about it.

Smoke-
i haven't taken Karate in years; but i still talk all the time about penetrating things- just ask the wifey!

FYI- the Pocket Pal brass knuckles are 1/2" thick, kinda heavy. i'm gonna get one in a little less thickness and lanyard hole it to some dark paracord. Funny thing is- i still think my favorite non-knife carrying gadget will be those Ironwood palm sticks (when i don't think it prudent to have the 6" Airweight ASP with the keychain attachment on it).

Smoke,

We have strikes like that too. I think some FMAs call them witiks, and the cut through strikes are called lobtiks. They are all good to use, but to hit someone, then leave the stick on their body to transfer extra energy sounds kind of weird to me. I'd rather just hit the person twice or three times in the same amount of time.

KELT,

Did you get the 1/2" thick model or the 1/4" model? The Stingray looks interesting...

Nevermind, you already answered my question in an earlier post.

Kelt, I believe you.

K, a lot of folks take Runt's description of the chop too literally. I doubt her instructor wants to stick out the baton, wait a second, and look to see what happens.
