I recently traded into this knife. It is a new in the box (old gold box) SOCOM M/A PS Tanto. Date 4/97 with under 500 serial #. It appears completely un-used/carried/sharpened.
On the left side of the blade where the tanto grind is, there is a small flaw/scuff/??? that appears to be something it left the factory with. Everything else about this knife is pristine but is missing the para-cord and sheath (I don't know if the early ones even came with it. There are two sets of warranty paperwork. One on top of the knife in the box and the other under the fluff in the box. Knife is in the plastic bag within the box.
My digital camera is currently dead so no pics at this time.
Since I am not a MT collector and not a Tanto fan, this knife would be better off with someone who can appreciate it. I am interested in swapping it for a knife I will actually use. I use knives hard and prefer sturdy folders that can take serious use. I also prefer plain edge, non-tanto blades.
Some trade ideas would be:
BM Skirmish 630 PE satin
Microtech Socom or Socom Elite M/A Clip, plain S90V a plus.
Used Sebenza
Buck Mayo Ti
Buck Strider Tarani & SP 880 plain
Etc.....
