Git Er' Done and get well, Cpl.
You'll look back and wonder why you didnt do it sooner.
The Carpal Tunnel surgery is no big deal and you'll feel alot better afterwards.

carpal tunnel is a pain.

I have it from working at a keyboard all day plus milking goats by hand for 20 years.

I have switched to a milking machine last several years and hopefully will avoid the knife.

Good luck with yours I've known lots of folks in the goat community that have had it and it helped greatly.

Thanks, the eye isn't a problem. One night covered up and off work, next day I'm back at it.

It's the hands that I'll be scuttled on.

Hmm. Perhaps leatherman can whip up a complex harness so we can attach a BM-e to your right leg.

You could thereafter saunter ... and chop! ... to your heart's content.:)

I hear you C.P. and I agree with most everything said except for setting being (completely) stultifying. :p ;) :D Of course that's IMNSHO because except for the trips I get up to eat, go to the bathroom, or the occasional doctors visit, I set here on my arse in front of the monitor. :o :grumpy: It sure isn't the life I had pictured for my retirement but such is life. Fortunately for me my injury happened at work so I was covered by workers' compensation and drew like 80% of my pay the six months to a year I was off both times.

The nice thing is that you have hope of continuing as you've been used to no matter how long you're off each time. Believe me I know exactly how you feel but everyone that's said something to the order that Esav said, "A year or two down the line, you might remember you once had a problem. You will know you don't have that problem anymore." is spot on...

Hell my young friend, you have it made even if it doesn't seem like it. :p ;) :D

As an afterthought I called my neurosurgeon's office earlier this week and I have an appointment for next Friday. As much as I've tried to fight not having the back surgery he said I needed last November the time has come... So here I go again and at 69 I feel as if I'm getting too damned old for this crap!

At the age of 52 my existence is similar to yours in many ways Yvsa.

I have a dog as my sole company.

I depend on friends to do my shopping and drive me to medical appointments. That this has been the case for the last 15months. Things will not get better rather worse.

But what has kept me going is the computer and HI in particular. I dont drink, smoke or gamble and so have a little government pension money for HI products. Can't use them as I would like but I try to have an occasional swing at a tree branch or water filled milk jug if I am feeling really well.

We can adapt to our circumstances and get some joy or happiness or we can become a pain to be around. I have found it better to enjoy what I have now and keep what few friends I have and hope for a swift conclusion to my issues.

Trite as it may seem, "Don't worry, Be Happy!"

Hang in there Cpl. 2 yrs ago I found out I had avascular narcrosis. A disease that prevents blood from going to my bones. started with lower back pain and surgery, then right hip, right femur ,and lastly left hip replacement, ( still recovering ) Spent most of last year in a nursing home in a wheelchair. Just now have been walking a bit to get stronger, didnt ever think I would be down like that at 50yrs old. So keep your head up and soon you will be feeling great . PM me if you want to shoot the bull.

Eh, all these years guys have been telling me I don't have to worry about this stuff until I get old. I'd like to kick them in the balls, but, umm, they all died of this shtuff.

Boy, hearing how all you guys' lives suck makes me feel a bit better, if a bit STULTIFIED
1. to make, or cause to appear, foolish or ridiculous.

although I feel like being not working for a month may still make me
STULTIFIED
2. to render absurdly or wholly futile or ineffectual
:p

An underachieving overachiever, so to speak. . .;)

The Lone Gunman: is your sig from the old Twilight Zone episode Willoughby?

Sorry to hear about the new stuff, man. Hang in there. I have some problems with the hands and forearms mostly work related. I'm going to try this guys program and see how it works. Not a big fan of surgery.

Having a month off might not be so bad (if you have paid leave or something and finances are not affected). Relaxing never STULTIFIED me. But those carpal operations will be a bit painful. Good luck with it.
May you never be a victim of STULLIFICATION!!

Ok guys, I think we can stop taking the mikey out of the whole STULTIFIED thing.
To my experiance, Esav takes lulz very badly.

Cpl Punishment,

I hope things went well for you with the Eye Surg.!!

Positive Thoughts and Healing Energy still being Sent!

Blessed Be!

Thanks, Willow.
They seemed to have gone well. I have an Aug 5 appointment for imaging to make sure no more is needed.

Now, it's on to the hands. . .

Hope you get good news from yours!

Smoke and prayers from HI and Kamis
