Nasty,

Is there any chance that you'll be coming through Utah before December? I remember you telling me once that you come to Hill once in awhile.

As a matter of fact, I will be arriving there this Sunday afternoon...staying at the Hampton Inn nearest the base until the following Saturday afternoon. Feel free to email if you like.
 
Not only that Semp...but I leave the following Monday for Florida, then to Ohio for a week, followed by North Carolina. I'm lucky um...what's her name...is a good sport!
 
Nasty, the Marine, going to Hill AFB.....when I was stationed there we had a little incident with a Marine pilot that was having trouble discerning a small civilian landing strip with the one on the base. :eek: Needless to say we had to go over to the civilian strip with carts and get him off the ground so he could, then humiliated, land properly on the Air Force base.......poor guy :rolleyes: :footinmou ;) :D
 
No Gin...I was Army and Air Force. I could read and cypher!

As for the Marine pilot...no wonder he had trouble. No one was shooting at him and the landing strip wasn't moving in six directions. As a *frequent* flyer...I've got to say that if I'm ever in an aircraft in distress...I want my pilot to be a Corps trained one!
 
True...but I wonder...do Navy pilots also consider themselves riflemen? ;)
 
good question....all i remember is that fighter pilots think their $#!% don't stink. I've had more than my fair share of dealings with them :D ( with all due respect to John, of course) Fighter pilots are the romantics....bomber pilots......now there's the real fire power :eek: :rolleyes: :footinmou I always wondered if this went along with the " it's not the size of the ship that makes you seasick, it's the motion of the ocean" thing. :footinmou

Anyway....have a nice time in Utah. ;)
 
Oh yeah, I forgot, Utah and fun don't go together....they do have private clubs that were a lot of fun :eek: Take a lot, and I mean a LOT of books to read?? ;) Call your wife on the phone every night......ummmmmm

That's because i was on the flight line at Hill AFB.....my sons the Navy rat :D

You were stationed at Hell, oops I mean Hill?? Thats cool. I am currently assigned to the 4th as a weapons guy. BUT, I just got approved for retraining, THANK GOD!!, and my class date is 10 Dec to go int the Comm Comp Sys Operator career field. Where did you work and when?

A LOOOnnnggg time ago in red section on the flightline. I was a crew chief. Comm....that's a good field. Good luck. Is it still the 388th wing?
 
When I first got here in '01 we were the 388 Fw and I was assigned to the 4FS. Well they restructured and now we are the 388 aircraft maintance squadron and I'm assinged to the 4 AMU. :rolleyes:

I defied all odds in getting this job, I'm stiil not sure how happed, but thanks.
