I'd like to suggest an alternative-but I can't think of one. RC-3, RC-3, RC-3! Oh! How about an RC-3? :)

For a small EDC fixed blade, you can't do much better than ESEE (formerly RAT Cutlery) Izula in my opinion :) Tough as nails lil blade, compact, nice sheath and produced by a great company with a great warranty :)

I must concur with the previous posters, Rat, now ESEE Knives, is a phenomenal company. I carry the Izula every day in my front pocket. If you want bigger, look at the HEST, RC-3 or RC-4. You really can't go wrong with anything from them.

Another +1 on the Izula. If you've never had a 1095 knife because you thought the steel was crap...the Izula will change your mind. It cuts like a laser.

Maybe this will sway your mind more. This one is mine.

for that price range... everyone above has it. RC-3 or Izula from ESEE (formerly RAT).

just because someone has to do it - you might also look at the BK11 - Becker Necker made by Kabar, especially if you can find one with the new micarta scales.
Another one you might consider that may or may not be in actual production yet is the Kabar/BK&T B-RAT, which is a BK11 blade mated to the Izula handle.
That said, I have an RC3 (now ESEE3) at home and an Izula being delivered today. :D
(they're at home because my workplace flinches about folders & box knives - fixed blades are right out, unless it's a paring knife in your lunch box)

If cord-wrapped/bare handles like the Izula has aren't your thing, look into the Spyderco Moran or Aqua Salt.

ok narrowed it down to a RAT Izula or maybe a Bark river bravo necker ? any opinions on those or maybe a TOPS C.A.T. #201 Covert Anti-Terrorism. but lending more to the Izula tho. Im just hesitant i wont like the handle. paracord or not.

Paracorded Izula is night and day. I found that with my big hands a skeleton Izula was not comfortable at all. Anyway, if paracord still seems like it wouldn't do the job, just preorder the Micarta Izula scales. They're about 15 bucks from the-knife-connection.com 15 bucks is about what I paid for 100 foot of paracord...if you're like me and probably won't end up using the remaining 90 feet or so of cordage, you might as well get the micarta scales...plus the-knife-connection.com offers free shipping. 46.52 shipped for an Izula is a steel (pun intended).

TOPS are as tough/reliable as ESEE but they tend to be klutzier. I have big hands but the Izula is so well-designed it fits perfectly, very controlled grip, without any cordwrap. I am looking forward to the Izula folder later this year.

I have a Ka-Bar TDI. Good little knife, very covert, but basically, it's self-defense and that's about it. The Izula, H.E.S.T., and RC-3 and RC-4 are long on utility as well.

Personally, I would recommend the H.E.S.T. based on my own preference, but it is specialized and a bit different in design, and some people find they aren't as comfortable with it.

Bark River has some nice little blades. Although I am not sure that they come with kydex sheaths...

The Cold Steel mini Pendleton hunter is small with a kydex sheath -only about 30 bucks.
