Hey Rats, any interest in a Rodent Solution LE?

Sorry if this has been addressed before, I couldn't find any mention of it. I would personally love one in 154cm and Black Paper Micarta. Would anyone else like to see something like this, or am I the Lone Ranger?
 
I would be in for one in a second. It would make a great little critter knife. The coatings really hurt cutting and skinning performance IMHO.

I have only had one of the paper micarta knives and didn't get a chance to use it. So I have no experience with that end.

Incidentally has anyone ever stripped an RS and satin finished it. It already has the classy rounded areas on the spine/pommel/guard.
 
i stripped mine to a nice bare look but never satined it, i thought it looked real nice just as it was, kinda rough :)

If you're ever thinking about doing it, I highly recommend it for such a small blade. It slices and digs into wood very nice now :)
 
I think another great option for handle material would be Tigerhide Linen Micarta.

If we could show enough interest here then maybe the folks at the swamp might make a couple of batches for us, I know it would be an instant winner. I sure hate to beat the Death Chat thing to death, though (maybe that's why it's called "Death Chat").
 
At first I thought this was a request for a RMD LE and I was like "I already have one of those" then I saw Rodent Solution LE. Would definitely buy a RSLE.
 
I think Im going to strip and satinize mine in a few days when I get some time. Normally I don't notice a decrease in performance with a coated blade but I think because of how low profile the blade is it will benefit from having a smoother surface.

And If we do have a RSLE I would like it to be a little different than a normal LE. How about an extra half inch of blade and some G10 or rare micarta scales? Black paper being the only handle choice for LE's is no fun.
 
I would be shocked if we did not see an LE RS at some time. Perhaps not in 2011 with a lot of things already announced to come out in the coming months. I would buy one or two. G10 or le tigerhide as others mentioned would be great!
 
Looks like the majority is definately leaning toward tigerhide, I hope Eric is reading this.
 
+1!!! Tigerhide Micarta and a satin blade would make me buy another RS. I like the blade as it is, and wouldn't change a thing, except for maybe a convex zero edge. Speaking of convex edges, my RS seams to have a slightly convex edge. Is this true for others?

I planned on stripping mine as a project to learn how to strip, but would rather have one come that way from the shop with some fancy Micarta.

I know this sounds silly, but the one thing that has kept me from stripping any of my Bussekin blades is I like the logos. It's not because I want people to recognize the brands, I just happen to think all the logos are bad #*%.
 
I've really only just painted the knife to this point, still waiting for it to dry completely. I'm quite positive it won't turn out nearly as good as the one in the link since the logo on the RS has such fine lines, but I'm still interested to see what I end up with. I don't think I'll let it soak in the etching solution as long.
