Dang, you guys are on it! I just saw those at Plaza Cutlery this morning. LOVE those decorated pins, nice touch. How come I don't see pix in either of your threads? (Tranefan or Roefisher)
Dan is great to deal with, that is where I finally got my Unique Sebbie from. My one and only CRK A Manadi is next on my list though.

I have not handled DI, yet. Would you say that the finish on it is shiney and hard on as if it were nearly varnished for example or would it be a more rawer and open grained style, like Box Elder ??

Of course this is an open question to anyone with DI

The DI L&S WIS's I have are of the "shiney and hard" variety, not the "opened grain" type I have on a few other knives. What is interesting with DI is you can get either a very strait grain or very complex burl, I'll try and post a picture soon to explain what I am talking about...
