I always think about Bailey around the Christmas season....

Gave him a call yesterday, and he is happily backlogged making his falling block rifles.

Still making his own damascus in his smithy, but no knife related stuff.

Makes me glad to have the pieces from him that I do, a fine damascus fighter, and a through-tempered katana that is danged near bullet proof.

Anyway, Bailey says "Hey, ya'll" to the BladeForums community, and if anyone wants to reach out, his contact information is on his website, and as Bradshaw Gun and Rifles he will be at the Dallas Safari Club convention January 3-6, 2013.

Best Regards,

STeven Garsson

Good to hear all is well, sad to hear that mr. Bradshaw isn't making knives...

Kind regards,

Jos

Funny, STeven, I was just thinking about Bailey a couple of days ago. Good to hear that he is doing well.

Glad to hear he is doing well - one of the really good guys for sure. I remember the last Blade show that we both attended and he had three katanas there.... SO wishing I had bought one then.

A truely skilled artist.

he is happily backlogged making his falling block rifles.
That's the Best Tribute to a skilled craftsman possible.

Good to hear all is well.

Thanks for the headsup, STeven !
Good to hear Bailey's rockin' the rifle world.
Picked up my first Comp Cutter from him shortly after becoming a member here, top notch work.

Bailey was my instructor when I did the Intro Class 10 years ago.
He was an inspiration then, and remains so.
Thanks for the update.

Just happened to check in today and saw this thread--thanks STeven.

Bailey's one of my favorite makers and a friend for more than 10 years—glad to hear his rifle making has taken off (still hoping to see one in .35 Whelen :)).

A couple of my favorite Bradshaw's:

You can't toss out phrases like that here without giving us pictures to look at!!!!!!!!

I can and just did, lol.

Here is a pic of the knife, and the sheath made by Paul Long.

I don't have an easy way to photograph the katana, sorry.

I just recently learned of Mr. Bradshaw and his folding bowies - absolutely gorgeous knives - I did not know that he wasn't actively making knives anymore. That is a real shame, his work is incredible. One of these has become a "grail" knife for me, but i can only imagine the price

Peregrins photo and lucky for him, his piece too

I've heard that you can get Bailey to make a knife for you--if you also order a rifle to go with it. :o

Thanks for reminding me, Steven, I need to drop Bailey a line as well. It's been a little while since I checked up on the progress of my buffalo gun. :D

One of the few knives I have regretted selling was a Bradshaw toplock

still have a nice little stag gunstock by him though :)

he's a real stand out in this world, his work is identifiable and always awesome looking.
please send regards from Sooke!

Thanks Steven - it's nice to hear something from Bailey. I'm fond of my Bradshaw blades:

I'm glad Bailey is successful as a gunmaker but I still think it's a darn shame he doesn't make knives anymore.

Bailey called this one his "Folding Bowie". It's the 4th one he made and it was made in 2006. it's got the "Sawby Self-Lock". Nothing fancy about it, but it's a well designed and well made folder. It's a pleasure to carry and use.

Good to hear that he has got the gun business rocking. I was by his shop several years back and saw some of his early stuff like the little 22 Hornet double rifle. Suffice to say that he was doing impressive work on the guns even back then!!!
