I was wondering that too. The biblical David's mother isn't named (although she is in the Talmud--it's Nitzevet), but just because Goliath's in the clue doesn't necessarily mean the "D" refers to David.

On the other hand, we know Goliath had a giant's sword, and David killed him. So David's mom would be the mother of all giant killers. That would be like the Mother Of All Gladius's. Bring on the MOAGs!
