alright i'm gonna get that mill as soon as i find a coupon for 20% off.
then i'll go to the local store and sweet talk them, just like rashid said in his sieg X3 post.
anyone know is tey have one of thses deasl going on right now? thanks

hf has a sidewalk sale this weekend -it might also be on sale if your lucky-
i went to mine today :)
 
nevermind my closest HF doesn't carry it. might have to check to see when the one in MA opens which is about 2 hours away
campared to the RI about an hour away

thanks man. is this good for online use too? unfortunately the local store says they arent able to have the mill shipped there. maybei should call the 800 number and bug them about it?

HF local and HF warehouse are 2 different entities actually.

Each is owned individually but doesn't really have much control over what they get in. Kind of a guessing game.

I played the game for a couple years...calling ahead and checking. Managing to score my mill for about $300....:D (almost as good a deal as Burch...:p)


The above coupon is only good at the store.


That said...they told me the same thing they told you....BUT....it's not entirely correct. They CAN request certain items...especially larger ticket items. You just need to talk to the right person at the right time. Seriously...I talked to a half-dozen different "management" people until I finally got one of them to give it to me straight. Three mills were "magically" on the truck a few weeks later. I called every week until I found out they were there...scooted on down that same day...and just managed to pick up the last one! They would've sold it right out from underneath me to whomever showed up...even though I had a rain check. :mad: But, at least I got it. :D


So, basically, in a nutshell....it CAN be done...but will require some legwork and patience on your part.



HF discontinued the online coupons a few years back...also they used to have free shipping - now discontinued. I imagine it got abused pretty bad.
 
I was looking at a couple different mills , none of which they stocked in any of the Vegas stores , talking with the manager , he was able to tell me which ones they could have sent to the store , and which ones I would have to buy online.
He also said , when I am ready to buy , he will give me whatever the sale price would be on it whenever I buy :)

and yes I can use a coupon as well ( local paper had a 15% off coupon that expired 6-11-07 ).

I am sure I dont NEED a mill to make fixed blades , but please dont tell my better half that ;)
