Hello,
I'm looking at purchasing a bandsaw (hacksawing blade steel gets old really fast :( ). The HF 4x6 bandsaw is in my price range, and comes highly recommended. However, I can't figure out how this bandsaw is used in the "vertical' configuration. I'm going to be using this for cutting blade blanks out of stock, and I just haven't been able to figure it out...

I'm probably stupid, but can someone explain this to me?

it flips up, then you remove the vice and stuff, then sit on the deck. There is a little plate that screws to the bearing guides on the one side, I have the same saw and love it. It is not the best you have to go slow but get a nice lenox diemaster fine tooth blade and it will serve you well.

Most take that little plate off and make them a larger one to give you more space to lay your work on while you are sawing it out. The plate I HAVE ON MINE IS 6" BY 10" MIKE

When it's vertical there is a pin that goes in to lock it upright. You can swap that for a nut and bolt for more security if you like.

I remove the bandsaw from the table by removing the large pin. I also removed the switch and wiring. I then made a couple of brackets and bolted them to the a table and then remounted the saw and installed the electrical. If you want I can post some pictures. The table was another HF tool stand. It works really well.
