I recently purchased a used ($25) HF 6 X 48 Belt and 10" disc sander, SKU# T 33883, which I believe HF has replaced with a HF 6 X 48 X 9" Disc sander. I' would like to change out the 10" disc with a better quality 9" disc. Has anyone done this and is it a practical project ? I have contacted HF about getting a manual and the availability of parts for this discontinued model. . I would appreciate any comments and suggestions about this Belt and Disc sander. My plans are to use it for sanding scales, blocks and initial sanding/flattening of knife blanks.
Thanks

Will tell you from experience... Replace the belt on the motor drive if it bogs down to one with more tension and it works much better. The drive belt that comes with it standard is junk, if it's used it may been replaced already.

Triought, Thanks for the heads up on replacing the belt. I will check it out and replace if it has not been done .

Take a picture of the side of yours where the wheel goes. I don't use my 9" disc on mine and I'd be willing to send you that part off mine if it'd fit on yours.
