I was at the sidewalk sale today and saw their digital thermometer ($22). I know this has been brought up before, but I don't know squat about them. When they say Type K does that refer to the connection from the probe to the digital thermometer? I'm wondering if I can pick up another probe somewhere else and have it fit the thing. The one that comes with it wouldn't last too long.

Thanks,

Paul

I got a probe on eBay and it works great. I didn't (and still don't) know what the heck "K type" means, but I just made sure it said that in the description, and what I got works like a charm.

buy one. I got one a while ago (a year or so), and have it hooked into my gas forge. It keeps me running at the right temp. It is invaluable for 1095 which has a very small window of proper heat.

John,

The lot no is 92242. I couldn't find it with search on the Harbor Freight site even with the #. The description is a Cen-Tech Digital Thermometer with probe.

Paul,
I think it is a store only item. I have never been able to find it on the website either.

I picked mine up earlier. Now it's going to have to sit for a while before I can use it. I'm going on 3 years now since I've made a knife. I'll finish my new shop sometime this year I hope.
