I've a broken pair of bearing, do anyone know where I can buy replacements?

There are 2 pairs of bearings, one pair on each side of the cutting window. I want to replace both pairs.

Thanks.

I doubt the manufacturer sells parts. Have you tried measuring the old ones and looking thru McMaster-Carr? I'm sure they're something common.

Quite a few ppl here use HF portaband, just hopping that I am not the first one has to replace these bearing. Measure part -> McMaster-Carr would be my last resort route - good rec, thx.

Call HF. I own a HF compressor and when the pressure regulator failed, they sold me a replacement at a very good p rice

My motor just went out on mine. I will mail you the bearings off of mine if you want them. PM me your address and I will get them in the mail.

I think this is what you need. I mailed them off this morning. It should be there by Tuesday. Glad I could help.

I had a look for those wide ones,
None available from HF

They are available, from bearing suppliers but special size, special order and I think one or two pair was the price of a new saw

I can't remember the sizes, but metric not inch

The narrow ones were the same inner and outer diameter, standard metric sizes- cheap china bearings available.
It's possible you could double them up with a shim washer in the middle.

Having had two of their portabands, I have found that sometimes things change on them. The Allen screws holding the handle on are different sizes. Everything looks the same, should be no reason to change them, but they did.

Hope the bearings fit for you. :)

Yes, those bearing parts look identical to mine. a xmas present, appreciated

You are right, 4 precision shielded bearings would cost close to $50 (@McMaster-Carr). night man save my day!

Yeah, sure hope for a perfect fit too... otherwise, reluctantly I will cough up bucks for hf 4x6 horiz/vert bandsaw.

Did you actually manage to break them somehow, or did they simply wear out with extended use?

One day, I noticed some weird noise, one bearing shield broken exposed ball bearings. So I rotated that one away. Well, the one across from the broken one also start to noisily wobble. I've this saw for over a year, maybe cut 200-250 blanks total. Hopefully I can use it for another 100 before it kicks the bucket.

Usa bearings (I believe) have a site and an ebay. They have all kinds of bearings at good prices. This is where I got my extra bearings for the small wheels. When I posted the prices, it seemed they were very good. For those, I believe, $15 for 10. Hopefully this helps someone along the way. Such crazy markups from other suppliers.

I think Grainger's started selling repair parts for many power tools they carry. Maybe they will adapt to the HF model.

Tomorrow is my first day of vacation this holiday, maybe I will go buy one of these portabands too. :)

Consider the milwaukee and dewalt.

Wow yeah, much more reasonable pricing. Didn't see right wid/length spec but I could double stack 2 thin together.

Reference saved. Thanks much:thumbup:

If you need a size they don't have, call them. They seem to be a great bearing source.

If you do, for this reason or any other you'll find it's a great saw. It's a little (cough, cough) rough around the edges but I've gotten a lot done in the short time I've had mine.

I received bearings from night man -> exact matched. Again, thanks!

I had bookmarked their store for future. will call when need arise. thanks.

When cutting blanks from 1/4" thick bars, I dream of a large vertical bandsaw - oh well, I will keep zzz with a portaband

Whatever gets it done. Nearly anything beats a drill and hacksaw, and plenty of fine work has been done by that route. I do like this saw though.
