HI 20th Anniversary

Congratuations, also Yangdu. You and UB have much to be proud in the assistance you have given the people of Nepal and the pleasure you have given to so many forumites. May you have many more years of success.

Can't say it better than that. Supercongrats!

Happy Birthday to ninjahomer

To those of you new member who may have already checked the internet on information on Neem Wood you may find this personal item interesting. As a child we lived a long ways from medical assistance so my father often cared for us himself. One of the things he used was Neem Wood to break a fever. He would boil a chunk of wood in water and after cooling give us a glass or two of the water to drink. Yes, it was bitter, but it certainly worked and here I am.

Very Interesting, Auntie....THANK YOU!!!!
Amazing the things you can learn from people of experience.

What a wonderfully sweet thread. i'm sorry i missed it yesterday. Happy anniversary HI. This company literally changed my life for the absolute best.

Thanks to you Yangdu, Pala, the kamis, and of course Uncle Bill. Also a big thank you to all the Cantina residents that have helped shape this place over 10 years is in order.

Email sent on:
18 inch 31 ounce Dragon WWII by Get kami. Neem wood handle. $100 even.

I'm surprised this one was still available. I almost sent an email on it this afternoon. I promised myself that if it was still available when I got back from celebrating my birthday, which was today (January 21st) I'd send an email on it.

I suppose an introduction is in order. My name is Ben, I'm now 35, and I've been checking this forum daily since a little before Christmas looking for my first HI khuk to call out to me. I think this may be it. I think it's this one: http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=606912

It's kind of funny, because this is the first one I saw where I decided I was going to get a HI khuk. I called my wife over to look at it, and she agreed that it was beautiful. We have several carved wood dragons that look much like the one etched on the blade. It'll look nice on display.

If it looks as good in person as it does in the photos, I might even feel a little bad about using it, but it'll get a good workout every now and then anyway. What's the point of a knife if it can't be used? :D

It looks like quite a nice community forum you have here, and I'm happy to join in, especially on this 20th anniversary occasion.

Ben

ps - If somebody else beat me to it, that's cool too... I know there's 1 (or 6) waiting for me.
Welcome NH!!!
And HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!...( I've been saying that alot today....my son's birthday is today. I wish i could get him a khuk, but he's not into em like i am,so i got him something else)
I think you'll love that dragon WWII so much you'll want to save it for display and get a good user in the future. It's pretty much the same as the one in the link you posted. These khuk's pick their owners, when they speak to you, you should listen, i have and havent regretted a single purchase.

So....DIDJA GETIT?

Yes, I got a wonderful email from Yangdu this morning confirming that I got it and wishing me a happy birthday. It's in the mail, and I can't wait to see it. It really did seem to pick me.

It probably will end up on display (most of the time anyway) which is why I almost didn't get it. I was looking for a workhorse to do some heavy chopping (we're moving into a home that's on about 10 acres of woods that needs some clearing out), but I just couldn't pass this one up.

My son is 13, and hasn't seen a khukuri yet, but I'm guessing he'll like them, and probably will be getting one for his birthday in June. :)

Yangdu, congrats on 20 years!
