Yeah, I would just see what types of knives he they are interested in the most. If your son has any interest in the traditional pocket knives (like the Case XX Barlow) they have some interesting history behind them as well.

Hi, welcome to the forum, as for my 6 year old son, he is far to young and doesn't realize how easy he can cut himself so it will be a few more years before he gets a knife. I did pick him up a couple of very realistic rubber combat training knifes to play with though, he loves them. Do watch him carefully if he is handling knives at 6.
