HI Article

To those who DO forge old used steel: I congratulate you.

Steel is something that can always be recycled, and our planet is thankful when we do. (do I sound too much like a hippie?)

Of course it's not always possible, but when it is, we should do it.

The day I will have a yard big enough (read: the day my neighbors will be far enough), I will forge used leaf spring too.

But for now, guess I'll start by grinding some new one.

Nicely written article, old man. I enjoyed the read.

Thanks for sharing that and the fotos.

Yeah, Bill. And then repeated it incorrectly over and over. I told Nanc, "Ah, Bill's gonna love this!" Gotta love reporters! :jerkit:

Not only that Mike, he twisted everything around I said about Ivories. What can you expect, the guy was experiencing sensory overload and he was writing as fast as he could. Good article anyway.

Even I noticed a couple odd turns of phrase in the article, but still it's cool to have some positive PR for you gents, as craftsmen and artists. Seems like when most people find out I'm learning to make knives, they immediately assume I'm some kind of mad weapons freak hell-bent on slashing things up :(

Oh.. wait... I guess that kinda is true... :D

I pickup the Sunday paper today and it hasn't got and pic's in it.:jerkit:
Marc was rushing for sure, because he had to get back to the Family Jewelery Store. Got to get him over here for a setting stone demo.;)
It's my fault too, he call me to proof read the article before he submitted it and I forgot.:o :o

Pretty cool article except for finding out that elephant ivory is illegal  I'm tellin on you guys with ivory!! :D

He must have, as Dave Schott and the rest of the Pipsqueak club (myself included) had no representation at IG's this time around, and let's face it -- it takes supergenius such as those of us under 150lbs possess, instead of the rest of you lummoxes to really win! :D

I'm 6'4" and 220#... does that mean I qualify as a lummox and don't have to get my knives as sharp to compete? ;)
