HI Black Friday Deals for 2012

hey guys,
I'm new to khukuris and sweetcostarica has hooked me up on the HI bandwagon!!
I've been interested in something like that, though in a villager/satin finish.
I'm just wondering if the shorter handles on the AK is large enough for M/L sized hands?
Sorry if this has been answered before, I can't seem to find that post/thread!

Also, do you guys prefer the steep 35degree angle on the blade or the 15degree angle on the blade for camp chores use?

Thanks a lot for your help!!

Welcome big.me...
H.I. khukuri are sized more for american sized hands, the larger size blade you go, the larger the handles are.
As for blade angles in sharpening. It is highly recommended that you keep the same convex edge profile that the khukuri came with. No secondary bevel.

That's cool then, I assume that they will fit american sized hands :)
and the angle i was talking about wasn't the blade edge geometry, but how much the khukuri 'bends' - the overall shape of the knife, like a sirupate vs an AK.

thanks for the quick reply though :)

You'll find the straighter khukuri such as the tamang and WWII to be easier to learn proper technique and to hit the sweet spot on.
The more curve a khukuri has the more learning curve it needs. As with any individual/individual item, some are more natural at it and some need to practice harder.
