  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

HI Bowie tip re-shape....

Bhakta used to be the primary maker of the little bowies. The one I carry I believe was made by Anil. It's slightly thinner than the Bhakta versions. He did a great job. They all have super talent for sure.

Have you decided on this project?

How did you fasten the scales on the handle? I don't see pins....

I've done a little grinding on my little bowie, just a tiny bit at a time. So far it didn't take much to what I feel improves the look. A lot of pondering, I not the brightest light in the harbor but I know once metal is taken away I at least can't put it back. Actually, I learned that working wood, but at least with wood I can go get another piece and try again.

The are 3 pins on them scales. With antler etc, I really don't like to see pins or mess with the outside of the antler. I call them blind pins. It's not near as easy but the pins go into the antler just below the outside skin. I use Acra Glas for the epoxy but of course there are other options too. It would be tough to get these handles off if I ever wanted something different.
