I have a buddy who really wants a high cap magazine for his 1022. I was hoping someone would be able to recommend a good one to me. Ive seen a few different ones out there, and am not too sure which to buy

I'd say to avoid Ramline.

My brother purchased one of the 50 round double stack magazines.

The first few times we took it out, it was so difficult to load we'd only load 20-30 rounds at a time.

Then, front locking tab snapped off.

While loading the replacement magazine, somehow a round inside the stack leaned over, and now the magazine is jammed.

The Butler Creek 25 rounder is reliable enough.

The Butler Creek Steel Lips magazines are fairly highly regarded, but I have no experience with them.

Tactical Innovation's magazines are supposed to be the best of all, but I have no experience with those either.

Butler Creek are thought to be pretty good, as mentioned. I haven't heard too many bad things about Ram-Line, tho.

Go with the Butler steel lip mags, I have been using them for years and they hold up much better than the plastic lip versions. I just can't bring myself to plop down 70 bucks for the Tactical Innovation's TI25 mag...lol.

Butler Creek has a long track record as making a good product. I'd avoid the RamLine. I haven't had good luck with them and don't know anyone who recommends them.

Another maker is Tactical Innovations. They make a couple of different versions that have adjustable lips and can be disassembled for cleaning. I'll attach a link for anyone interested.

That looks awfully long but it's where I found it. If it doesn't work just check tacticalinc.com.

The Tactical Innovations mags are supposed to be the best, but they are spendy.

I use Butler Creek Steel Lips 25rd mags. The Hot Lips can work pretty well for a while, but eventually they will stop working depending on how much and how you use them.

I bought a Ram Line clip once
It lasted about 2 days
The springs F'd up

Butler Creek are good
I got a bunch that are 15+ years old
They STILL work great

I have 2 Tactical Innovations high-caps. Mine are the composite ones and they run $38 each. Their metal ones are closer to $70. The TI mags may require some slight adjustments - they are supplied with an allen wrench and instructions. Mine have worked fine. That being said I mostly use the plain old 10 rounders. I shoot at a gun club where rapid fire is not allow. The 25's are neat to go blasting, but I find that gets old after awhile.

I have a Butler Creek 25 round for mine, which has always worked flawlessly, although I tend to use the 10 round Ruger mags more often.

I have a Ram-Line .22 pistol called the Exactor. It is an abomination, which I never would have bought myself (got it as a gift). The worst thing about it is - you guessed it - the magazine.

I seem to be in an extreme minority in that my Ramline mag actually works pretty well. About my only complaint is it's a thumb busting sonofabitch to load. Of course, I bought it way back before the AWB, so build quality might have gone down since then.

Butler Creek Metal lip 25 rounders. . . as almost everyone else has said.

I have 4, and they work very well even after thousands of rounds. I use a Q tip and some Hoppes #9 to clean inside the top, when they get dirty.

As everyone has mentioned before Butler Creek…. Their stocks are of great quality as well, l have a SS folder on my 10/22 as well as my Mini 14. Great products well worth the cost….

I've used both types of Butler Creek mags, with the plastic & metal followers and they both worked great. I had a Ramline (aka Jamline) and after it jammed one to many times, my brothers threw it on the ground and shot it to hell.

i have a butler creek which has been a good one, no problems, i had a ramline and the 3rd time i used it it fell apart lol, came unglued or bonded, that was a few yrs ago though they could be better now, maybe, possibly, but i know around '01 or so they sukked lol.

I have the BC 25 rounder with the plastic lips and they have worked great for me.I think the steel lips would be a better made mag though..
