Over here and doing fine, gets kind of hot during the day, but other than that not a thing to complain about. Won't be able to post often, but will post when I can. Strangest thing, them rascals must have heard there was a bunch of HI khuks headed their way cause they started giving up in droves as soon as we got here. Town after town fell, including Baghdad, which is fine by me, since I'm sure we all want to see the killing stop and the helping start. Lots of suffering, too much, I can only hope a better future for these folks will come of it.

On a lighter note, we were having an NCO meeting the other night that got interrupted by this huge scorpion ambling in. People are freaking out, so I just whip out my trusty JKM, lop the critter in two, and sit back down to resume taking notes. People are looking back and forth between me and the now two piece giant scorpion with looks of mingled shocks and disgust, to which I respond in my best Texas drawl, "sorry, but some things just need killin".

Y'all take care, and I'll be home before you know it,

Sarge

Great to know that you're OK, Sarge.

Hopefully, you shared the scorp. Wouldn't want to seem like a hog, eating the whole thing yourself.

It is good to hear from you. Let us know how those khukuries work out. There are supposed to be a few ghurka units around there somewhere; so keep an eye out.

Good to hear from you. Better news to hear that you got there after the heavy fighting was done. Sorry to hear that you've got to help in mopping up afterwards and see the results of war on the general population including the women and kids.

Stay careful and check six regular. Don't drop your guard. You are a benevolent and compassionate man, Sarge. Don't let that get you hurt. We want you and your knuckleheads back in one piece.

Sounds like you may have to do a job that stinks dealing with the aftermath. Do it well and come home proud and head high. We'll keep you in our thoughts and prayers.

Well, I think they'll perform even better on a reconstruction mission. Good to hear from you and make sure you keep your eyes open for anyone who didn't quite get the message that they're supposed to stop fighting.

Sarge, do they give you any training about whats poisenous out there and what just bites?

Happy to hear from you Greg. Keep those sand fleas in check.

Watch out for those other critters that want to strike and run. Stay safe, might want to order one of your neck knives in the future. Dale

Alright!!!!:D Knew it was about time you should be showing up and was starting to be a little concerned that you hadn't.
Sure glad to see you're alright!!!!
I would want a little more than a JKM to chop a huge scorpion in two, and you're spot on when it comes to some things just needin' killin'.:D

For those curious about where Sarge might be, here's a little public info on the 4th from today's CNN webpage:
Samarra firefight: Soldiers with the U.S. Army's 4th Infantry Division battled Iraqi paramilitary fighters Friday as the division was moving north between Taji and Samarra, Brig. Gen. Vincent Brooks said during Friday's Central Command briefing. Eight technical vehicles -- civilian vehicles modified with military weaponry -- were destroyed and more than 30 prisoners were captured, Brooks said.

In previous wars, what's being aired on CNN would be Grade-A top secret intelligence!

In previous wars, they would be up for aiding and comfort to the enemy for the deal they made with the Devil in Bagdad.
