Just wanted to introduce myself as to not be rude, I’m very new to this, My name is Brice “Ex-Sgt “Mauritz”
I am an ex- U.S. Army Infantry Veteran, with deployments to Bosnia-Herzegovin, Panama, and the lovely Republic of Korea,South. I was born with a love and passion for knives, swords, axes, tomahawks, spears, … basically anything edged and made of steel, ok and blunt as well, I’ve a membership with one other forum but it’s also new. So I figured I would intrude ….un introduce myself and see where it goes “ hello and how do these work from your perspectives ? A little more about myself, I was in a minor helicopter crash in 1996 at Ft.Pickett ,Virginia while i was in the 10th Mountain Division, it was minor in that our Blackhawk didn’t come apart and aside from a severely bruised abdome ( a spare barrel from an M60 machine gun was jammed into my abdomen during the crash) it was relatively minor. No big deal … Ten years later my intestines fell out, literally… this isn’t for sympathy. Millions of people have it way worse on every level. But I simply cannot stand when people say they are disabled but don’t explain and expect others to understand. I am a disabled veteran. … how are you doing ? please excuse my poor English, spelling, grammar, and sentence structure ! So how does this all work ?

Welcome. :)

So how does this all work ?

If you have a question about knives, start a thread and ask it.

If you just want to talk about a knife or knives, start a thread and start talking.

If you see a topic/discussion that interests you, jump in and join the conversation.

And if you want to post pictures of knives, you'll need to use an image hosting site like Imgur.

Or you can just read and look at pictures of knives.

You'll get the hang of it. :)

Welcome to the forums! Prepare to open you mind and empty your wallet.

Though not a vet, I'm disabled myself. I've been literally through the ringer, and I'm only 42. Most people here know this. However, if you ever need someone to talk to who has been there done that, hit me up. Just got back from the ortho surgeon today, shoulder replacement surgery most likely in January. Thankfully not immediate. Tumor in the arm, torn cartilage, dead bone in the head of the shoulder, cartilage peeling away from the dead bone. Fun fun fun.

Again welcome! Just know that we are horrific enablers here.

Thankfully you explained your disability upfront, he can't stand it when people don't explain. 🤣

Welcome, ... thank you for explaining, but your explanation leaves some critical questions:
how did they fall out? - like a hernia? or your lower extremity? or like your stomach just literally ripped open and things started falling out?
(sincerely hope for your recovery & healing)

as for knives, enjoy reading here - you will learn a lot about any rabbit hole you decide to go down...
military history issue knives - dozens of threads
grails - hundreds of threads
pics - thousands of threads
metallurgy - also in the hundreds

best place to start is to share your most common edc & why you like it, and which others you've had experience with
or what you have found useful & practical in your long military history

Welcome, if you like knives you are in the right place. The amount of knowledge here both with the posting members and archived in past threads is truly incredible.

Welcome Brice and thank you for your service. Tell us about what brought you here and what you currently own, other than the obligatory k-bar :D , and what you are wishing for?

Fine. Childhood brain tumor, crushed left foot at 17, diabetes, arthritis, liver transplant, cancer, two strokes to start with. And the aforementioned upcoming shoulder replacement surgery. Explanation enough? Or do I need to go into detail?

Oh yeah occasionally my middle fingers lock up straight. Usually happens when I'm driving.
