HI Falcata for 8/28

True to my word, I'm back from work and it's still here, and now it will be mine. Auntie Yangdu, email incoming.

It is indeed... and a NICE one. Different gods depicted than on mine, namely the one with the Louisville Slugger.

Wow, those carvings are fantastic. If I didn't already have one I'd be all over this one.

I gotta agree with the both of you.  ;)

The icons are definitely different than those on the one I once had and the carvings are even more spectacular!   :D I think maybe the reason the carvings are so clean and crisp looking is because the wood doesn't appear to have been polished with the nasty rouge like the early ones nor does it appear to have any finish on it. IMHO the finish on the wood on the one I had looked to have been applied way to heavy and then apparently had seen the polishing wheel, for what reason I cannot begin to fathom.
What was really surprising was that if that's indeed what had been done whoever had done it had/has great skill as it wasn't polish burnt nor did it have any wheel skids, a great amount of skill and a very light touch is needed to power polish varnished or lacquered finishes and even more on a carved surface.

Thank you, my friend, you've kept me from spending money I can't afford to spend.
But then Uncle Bill always did say "Debt is good".

Whew, glad you bought it.

Son is going off to college next month, must use all willpower! Tuition and room and board about 25K a year, and I'm in that sweet spot where I make too much money to qualify for any "free stuff" but not enough to pay for it without loans!
