HI forum Birthday #2 - 10/12/98 to date

Was digging around old threads (KF) and found topic 000001 on 10/12/98 of the new Himalayan Imports forum. Were you previously posting on rec.knives, Uncle?

Rusty, I think I made maybe a half dozen posts on recknives. Then Earl Stewart called me while I was still so new to computers I was having trouble opening email and replying(I think this is why he had to call!)and asked me to host a forum. I thought he was trying to sell me something.

And, here we are 35,000 posts later or something like that.

Before posting on HI for the first time, I had gone back and read what was then the entire forum, 305 topics in a bit over 4 months. 10/12/98 to 2/23/99 took me sixteen hours(+) over 2 or 3 days. I thought that was just a staggering amount of information - that read like science fiction or fantasy - and that answered one question and that answer posed a dozen more to be asked.
