HI Guys,

Not sure if this is the right section to introduce myself, moderators please feel fre to let me know if not.

Just signed up, I live in Melbourne Australia and am a bit of a knife and axe junkie. looking forward to participating in the forum discussions and where I can add some of my small amount of knowledge and learn from others on here :) Hope everyone is having a great weekend so far.

Welcome aboard, Dan. :thumbup::cool:

thanks guys for the warm welcome :)

Like both axes and knives. Have a few GFB axes from the American felling axe all the way down to the wild life hatchet(but I find these a bit soft for the aussie hardwoods). also have a number of customs from Liam Hoffman, Toronto Blacksmith, Autine and Justin Blake.

On the knife front I have a few black jacks and bark rivers, Lon Humphry, Benchmade (have one of their first folders and it is still going strong after about 20 years of solid abuse!), and a couple of Japanese nihonto. I like more traditional type blades like the blackjack 125, or some of bark river's historical series. Lovee sublte blades if that makes sense, and ones that still have forging marks on them, in terms of hamon/jigane if it is laminated steel, a nice subtle but deep looking metal gets me :) not so much into the flashy Damascus blades. Not saying there is anything wrong with them or knocking those who do like them, just not for me is all. I can appreciate the beauty in them, but my personal taste it to more subtle blades :)
