HI identification thread

thanks karda -- please anyone else with concerns about an HI blade post them here and we can help identify or confirm or deny-- kadka is a tricky one to identify because of the special relationship he had, another question while I am here-- what is the symbol for pang and jeng? or whoever the two brothers that made the first bonecutter?

man I could get lost in that picture thread, so many beautiful pieces! thanks jay!

Hehe, me too Gehazi. It is the only thread I am subscribed too. I go back and drool occasionally, or maybe plot is the better verb.

another question while I am here-- what is the symbol for pang and jeng? or whoever the two brothers that made the first bonecutter?

They were not employed by HI, so no symbol.
Not sure how the whole thing transpired, but, I assume that they sold pala a few khukuri which ended up here on the forum for sale.

great lines on those blades, really like the scabbard design? ( is there a difference between a scabbard and a sheath?)

Gehazi, I have always heard in historic circles the phrase ""a sword or dagger may have a scabbard or a sheath, but a knife that is not a sword or dagger may only have a sheath." Not sure if that helps of not. I do know that for scabbard the word origin related to sword and protection/cover. Where sheath is much more common in the US when referring to either.

There is a term when you have a khukuri on hand:

2 "self-defense devices" on both hand, one with knife and the other with a chaped scabbard.

to quote some ol 80s song as self defense tactics "You can ring my Be-e-ell, ring my Bell" :D

Oh my back to the disco days. We had a favorite pizza joint that had that and My Ding a Ling in the same juke box.
After a few hours of continuous playing of the two they finally unplugged the thing. Seems the clientele wasn't as fond of it as our rather large group.

I didn't disco, even I have scruples, but I did kind of dig the funny lights and short skirts. I'm a bad boy.

You were probably over at the University of Rotating Wing Craft about that time I reckon. Flying Generals over the fence.
