You are correct, sir!

Welcome to the forums! Just to warn you, knives as weapons can actually be a bit of a polarizing topic (at least in self-defense discussions, we're almost all on board with some of the gorgeous fighters and swords that makers here put out) around these parts, so don't take it personally if you bring up SD knives and an argument/debate springs up. If you are interested in that sort of thing, though, the Practical Tactical subforum is a good place to start.

Also, make sure to watch your wallet! This forum has made me spend more money than just about anything else! ;)

Welcome Julie !!!!

The best thing to learn here is to "read more, post less" because a weapons kind of knife is very vague in description.
BTW, I've heard that a kitchen knife (any brand) is the most used in crimes with knives. So, if you have a kitchen knife, there you go.

All knives can be weapons including utility knives. So, you'll have to be more specific in your description of a weapon-like knife. Any way, welcome aboard. Don't take some things people say too personally unless you say something really stupid. ;) Even then, just blow it off.

Welcome, youll like it here.

So what kind of " weapons " are you interested in ?
Daggers, swords, bayonets, combat type knives, and is it the modern stuff or the more historical style stuff?

Whatever is is you're interested in, there are some fine members here who can steer you in the right direction.

Personally if I can't have a gun my next choice would be a 12" pruning chainsaw. If I had to pick a knife it would be an old school EK Model 5 Combat Bowie.

or my custom Bud Nealy Aikuchi. The Aikuchi is always on me for a backup and the EK is always strapped to my leg when I go out into the weeds of NEPA.

Hi all! My nae is Julie and I am new to this forum. I am interested in some weapons kind of knife. It is the reason why I am here. So happy to make friends with you guys.

It depends on what knife-based SD training you have. Ask your instructor.

If you haven't had that training, any knife will be equally (in)effective. Grocery store steak knives are inexpensive and functional weapons, popular with people who use weapons, and easily replaced if lost in a sewer or river.

The Practical Tactical subforum here would be the place to discuss the topic.
