HI Katar

These are the ones mentioned on the forum:

#2 - 24" ?? oz by Sanu - Received by Big Bob 4/1/02. Traded to Cabbit 11/12/04. Put on sale board winter 2006. Sold ???

Of course some others may have been sold through the store and not mentioned on the forum.

The only prototype I was aware of was the wood prototype that went off to Nepal.

Admittedly I have been off the forums for a while now, so I could have missed any number of katars being bought and sold.

Thats the same information that I found when I did a search. I could of sworn there was another out there though.

Nope...he didn't.

There's no backup for a Katar.

I still have mine. :)

For HI Falcata owners who thought their collection was complete, the unobtainable HI Katar re-emerges from history. :p

Here's hoping there are more...

Mike

Yep! I've never seen one for sale in the last 3.5 years. I was lucky enough to play with Dave K's at the SWKK. He had it nicely sharpened and it was a lot of fun. Just the thing for punching through chain mail.

Nice snag!

Now THAT is a pigsticker!!!!

Andy

Most definitely Andy. It would go in a hog's throat and out the other side in nothing flat and especially if it was sharpened like Dave K's!!!! :D
If you stuck a hog with a Katar he probably wouldn't move, just stand there while you collected his blood in a deep pan for blood pudding or blood sausage! :D
Usually they're worse than a chicken with a wrung neck, they run and flop over everything!:thumbdn: :barf: ;)

Any links to the story and use behind that blade?

The Katar is used in the weak arm and should be bound to the forearm with cloth or leather bindings otherwise the grip is very unstable. The sword is held in the strong arm as the main weapon. The Katar is used for parrying blows and for stabbing if the opportunity arises. The point is strengthened and its main purpose is to defeat chain mail.
