Thank you for this. I believe Mr. Thompson is an Air Force vet of the S.E. Asia conflict. As I remember he was involved with security at AF instalation in Laos and Thailand. Definately a been-there-done-that kinda guy.

Awesome!!! That's the very same article that made me find out about HI, was flipping through magazines waiting for my cousin in Penn Station, NYC, saw this article and my jaw dropped - khukuris in a US magazine???!!! that's the last thing I was expecting back then. Immediately wrote to Uncle Bill and next thing I was on this forum and had bought my first HI khukuri, a 15" angkhola from shop 1 with scrolled buttcap as shown in this atrticle.
