HI khukuri makes full circle. Marines and everybody gotta read this.

Excellent news!

Talk about a khuk round trip!

Read somewhere that the Nepalese govt. has bids out for two combat choppers and one troop transport.

Getting HI khuks to US troops is gonna be tricky while maintaining a low profile. If a dairy is a target, arming marines would guarantee that BirGhorka is in the terroist's sights.

At least, bribes at army checkpoints may stop.

How about a shipping depot in India? Maybe a special, different brand mark too? I'm sure they'd be pretty popular after the troops run across a few villager khuks.

Did a quick web search on:
"nepal (military marine) (contact mail base operations)"

found:

http://www.strategypage.com/fyeo/qndguide/default.asp?target=nepal

And if someone (Bill) were to join their discussion forum
OR leave a message on their feedback to the owners
http://www.strategypage.com/feedback/default.asp
I bet some contacts / Email addresses could be gotten.

Probably some other similar sites to try also.

To avoid a possible info leak endangering the kamis,
I was thinking a message on the order of---

"Urgently need to contact military / Marine personnel in Nepal to forward useful information from retired persons familiar with area. Please contact xxxxxxyyyyyyyyzzzzzz"

Bill you and some others likely know best how to word the request.

Prayers are offered.
regards,
dean

I sent email and I'm going to try to find out how to contact the US personnel directly. If I can get this done we can get everything else done.

But, you're right about having the Marines how up like BirGorkha was a supply depot. We'll figure a way to get them the khukuris on the sly. Right now discretion is certainly the better part of valor as far as BirGorkha goes.

Also, someone mentioned using another mark.

I'd guess it would be best for blades to be unmarked to avoid being tracked back to the source. Maybe even grind off marks on existing blades.

On the other hand, would word eventually get out to the wrong people anyway?

Maybe find some 3rd party who can be trusted to distribute the blades?

Not my field of expertise.

Great news! Hope the Marines can find BirGorkha. With all the emphasis lately about "tactical knives" it would be good to see the boys equiped with "real" knives!:D

I think it may be a case of us finding the Marines but we're working on that. Thanks to nephews in the field I now have the phone number of Marine Sgt Major and will call him Monday. He's out today on the road somewhere.

Something is so right about us forces over there to supply the nepalis with modern military equipment getting provided in return with the highest quality classic edged weaponry. :D :D :D
