HI M43 Review

good to hear it wasn't too serious. But the solution makes perfect sense to me, so I guess that means you just tested HIKV positive. :D

Nice pix and post, contact me in November and I will send you a replacement Sheath when shipment from Nepal arrives here.

do you think the blade actually infected him when it bit his hand?

100% infected - "somehow" I ended up also getting the Tibetan sword along with the kobra, must be the fever making me confused... Thanks Yangdu for the replacement sheath info and thanks again for the excellent service. I look forward to posting pics of my next two HI pieces.

Thanks for the review man...It was great and thanks for the pictures. Its always better to have pictures in the review and you delivered.

Oh...One thing I noticed about my WWII when I got it. It also had a karda and chakmak that had dings in them. Also there was a long scratch running up the length of my horn handle of the kukri. It was very noticeable and appeared to almost be a crack. I ended up soaking the karda and chakmak in boiled linseed oil, I then filled a rubber glove (condom works better lol) with boiled linseed oil and slipped the handle of the WWII in the gloved. I then took a rubber band and put it near the bolster and let it soak over night.
The crack/scratch disappeared and some of the little nicks look a lot smaller on the smaller knives. The horn is like finger nails and loves to soak up things just like when you get out of the shower. Its always easier to cut your finger nails and toe nails when they soak in water for awhile due to the pores. I suggest you try it and see if it works.

Thanks for the tips GB, yeah I love seeing pics of these pieces - it helped me a lot to decide what I wanted (needed) to get ;-). I will post pics of the sword and kobra when I have them.

Oh my word. The Kobra AND THe Tibetan too? Wow, you have been infected badly. Hopefully your wife won't define it as terminal!
Nice sharking though and can't wait to see your excellent pics of those as well.

Say, Heah, Yeah the M-43 is my all time favorite Khukuri, Although a bit heavy for on person carry all day long, I had one made to my specs, and Yangdu was spot on with my specs I sent her, and Bill did the rest, It came out not only beautiful but just right and it's still a great chopper even though it's smaller, The surprise, my larger M-43 came with the Black Buffalo Horn, just like I ordered it, The smaller one came out in White, I'm not sure if it's horn or what, But it's beautiful just the same, Yeah, Yangdu will keep it right, a great person to deal with, I have no regrets, , ,
