I spoke with my father today and he said that
the Kamis cannot find antlers in Nepal to make
the knife handles. He wants me to send what
antlers I can find to him so he can finish the
knives you are waiting for.

Here's a great deal for all of you. Any of you
with a few deer and stag antlers can trade them
for a knife. This is a fair trade that will help our
Kamis in exchange for a good knife.

Before anyone sends antlers, contact
Yangdu by email first and send the details
and the size of the antlers. A photo of your
antlers would be great.

I have customers waiting for the knife handles
to finish the orders the Kamis have.

I'm sorry Auntie, I have no antlers around, but I'll ask some of my hunting buddies.

oh very cool , hopefully we can really help out everyone, quick question, is the lack of antler because of relocation, or depopulation of antler bearing ungulates?-- also ems sent for custom caribou grips *(joke)

gonna stop by the local guys see what I can buy a pile of horns for, hunting season just ended, should be plenty in these parts. Will donate whatever I find, kami's work is too high quality to be given in exchange so I demand to pay in full for any knife!!!

Can you please in the love of mother nature use micarta, g10 or other sinthetic material, I would love that and certainly pay a little more if that was the case... This has probabli being discussed before but anyway... (Just my 2C) Thanks.

I have some down at the forge- i'll see what i've got this weekend. I have a LOT of handle sized pieces.

Yes, thats what is needed.
As long as the crown and roll are in good shape, it's useable.

Call me dumb Karda, what's a crown and roll. I have some good size Elk pieces but they have been cut good diameter and length but squared on both ends.

The crown is the end that goes into the skull, with that little ring around it.
A roll is the area between the crown and where the antlers spread. The part most used for making handles.

Any idea on dimensions for the antler? I'll poke around in the woods and check for some sheds, it's getting to be that time around where I live.

Cool. Always thought Hi sticks to horn wood and bone because it is what is available there and assumed shipping raw materials from other countries would be too expensive.
Now if antlers can be shipped from the US then how about G10 or some FRN? I am sure the Kamis could handle (pun) these plastics and HI could attract a few more customers which would usually shy away from natural materials because they fear exposure to the elements or having to maintain them.

Well I think.....nope not gonna say it, you'd hate me and I don't want you to hate me, cause haters just hate and I don't want that.
