Longer handle? Eh, it'd fit me just fine... it is too big for my current wallet though:grumpy:

Whoa... those pins are huge! That looks like a hella strong knife. Amazing that one can offer so much handmade quality representing so much work for $75.

Imagine yourself starting with a chunk of 5160 spring steel & ending up with a bowie like that. No way could you put it on the market for $75. I'm trying to customize an HI blade right now & I can't even drill a hole through the sucker! Much respect to the kamis for their fine craftsmanship - that is one heckuva bowie!

GTNM Another one for my collection. This one nice to have on my hip if I get to go camping again.

It's great to see you feeding the disease, lcs:D:thumbup: Conrats, that is a heck of a snag.

5160 seems to be THE STEEL.
It is sort of "cute" to see other blade makers talking about "this cool steel" that they are starting to use!!
HI has been using it since...when...The Beginning?

I like the blade shape - not so sure about the handle. A nice coffin style handle maybe?

Received today, Thanks Yangdu. Very little effort to bring blade up to very sharp condition.
Handle is slightly curved fitting my smaller hand perfect. I know dimensions were given, but blade is a little bit shorter than I measured in my mind, but still good. Blade could be about two more inches in length, keeping the handle the same, would be ideal in my opiinion. A great tool to have on your hip!!!!!
Sheath is one of the finer western type sheaths I have seen from the Sarkis. Very nice touch.
I LIKE IT!

Here is a little more RE: the 5160 Steel:

An example of the price/time factor is the spring steel blade. The steel used in the spring steel blades are so resilient that it is very difficult for the shapers to adjust any forging mistakes out of the blade. (curves, kinks, warps)... As a result, the blade needs to come out of the forging process without mistakes.... otherwise, it becomes unusable and is scrapped or has to go back to the forge. It is because of this high forging tolerance requirement that adds time to the forging/re-forging process that makes this blade more expensive (not just based on the raw material cost).

PS: From the Cheness site

Handle length looks about right~ blade could be 2-4" longer.

But, cool-looking knife!
