I've always said all anyone needs to survive is a knife and a compass and I've carried them almost since I got my first pocket.

I'm trying to sell a collection of about 50 (mostly pocket) knives that were acquired by a grandfather back in the '80's and '90's. Much to my surprise these were pretty easy to research and was amazed by the high prices they bring. From this research it appears there's not a huge premium for quality but the bulk of these are excellent to like-new with some broken or worn. Lots of them are selling on eBay and elsewhere for well in excess of $100.

I do have some interest in learning about the hobby (I collect other things) but my primary interest is that I'm seeking advice on how to sell these with minimal effort. One of the better ones is a Case 6254 with the number struck in it twice on top of the other. Where I come from that's a big deal. It is in excellent condition and almost like new. There are several I couldn't find.

Any guidance is appreciated.

In order for you to sell here or even ask about value, you’ll need to purchase a gold membership. If the collection is valuable enough - which it doesn’t sound like it may be - you can send it to an established seller like Arizona Custom Knives on consignment and they’ll do the bulk for you but you’ll have to pay them a percentage.

Minimal effort = bulk sale on eBay but lower profit. Slightly more effort= consignment but lower price. Max effort is take individual pics of higher-value knives and sell here or elsewhere like FB individually or in bundles

As mentioned above, you may not discuss values or specific items intended for sale without a Gold or higher paid membership.

You may ask about options on where to sell your collection but only in a generic fashion. Otherwise we will have to move the thread offline.

That's old school . Now all one needs to survive is smooth rap . . . whether it's BS or not . . . seems like people lap it up and shell out bucks .
