Howdy from Texas. I have only been making knives for about 8 months now and just love experimenting with new blade materials. I contacted Chuck Bybee over at Alpha Knife Supply to trade him some really unique Birdseye Mesquite for a couple of pieces of Talonite. He gladly accepted the trade after seeing pictures of some raw wood and a finished knife with the wood. As I said, it is very unique and really gorgeous. Well, to make a long story short, it seems I have been dupped. I keep getting the run around from everyone I talk to at Alpha, which is family owned and run. Has anyone else had similar dealings with Alpha? What should I do? I have been very polite up to now but am starting to get really upset.

Bryan,

You have not been duped. The mesquite is wonderful.

You have been talking to Jessica on the phone. She has been giving me your messages. You are not getting the run around.

I've sent you an e-mail.

Chuck! I received your email and I am truly sorry for being so impatient in light of the circumstances. I was unaware of you being a member of this site! I was doing some research on how to build my own wood stabilizing "machine" and ran across Bladeforums. Wow, what a resource! At any rate, I sincerely apologize for being so short tempered  ........I'm Irish :D

Welcome to Bladeforums! We have a special forum for this kind of thread; I'll move this one there for you.

Based on my experiences with Chuck Bybee, I'd say he would be the LAST person to ever dupe anyone! My dealings with Chuck were absolutly professional and the materials he sells are top quality. I'd take Chuck's word on any deal.

Chuck Bybee dupe someone?

NEVER, never will that happen..........

His Company should be called "Integrity knife supply"

After talking with Chuck, I realize it was purely miscommunication on my part and no fault of his. I look forward to working with him in the future. There are too many good looking pieces of wood on his website!
