HI News

With all the "Special Order's", new items (AK Cleaver, 18" Balance, Lefthand's straight blade) and the regular things, there catalog is going to look like Cabela's.
Yangdu does a wonderful job and should take a break, maybe a little trip back home, the sharks can circle and live off past feeding frenzies. Maybe even think up some more new items, for her return?

If you see a "rusty" knife you like on DOTD ..... BUY IT! My 18" Hanshee arrived yesterday with the supposed 2 min of rust as advertised on the 3/6/05 post. It took me longer than 2 min to even find what might be a small streak of corrosion. I may eventually buff the whole blade, but, for now, I'm happy to just refine the edge a bit (pretty sharp already) and proceed directly to use. This blade may displace the 18" AK as my favorite large chopper.:) :thumbup:

Ha, you've been tripped up by the name for a 'secret' project. I wasn't talking about corroded/oxidized blades, I was talking about Rusty Knives - The HI Sgian Dubh.

Well, err, hmmm, maybe you will see a rusty Rusty knife. Yeah, that's what I really meant.:o :foot:
 
Sounds great. I am pretty much overspent so will probably have to just email Yangdu whenever I do want something and try to go that route!

I know specials are a PITA for Yangdu, which is why I have only done 3 in over 2 years, and I tried to keep them super-simple, that is regular no-frills items that are featured on the DOTD (although I did do a slightly out of scope request last time.)

I'm gonna have to start lagging behind you guys soon if this production frenzy from the Kami's keeps up.

LOL! I can't believe that I was actually naive enough 18 months ago to think that my new goal of getting at least one each of every HI model was attainable! What an idiot! :eek: :o :D

Well, here's more happy news:
The Shipment is Here. That's what she's been doing all day, unpacking metal outisde in the snow.

I asked but there are no new Sher Attitude models- next time. There are a few MCC's or AK Cleavers.

And Shipping trashed three scabbords so that'll be DOD soon.

Duty fee's, but especially shipping costs are putting higher prices on this stuff.

Updates and I'm the talking head that cleans the urinals after hours too. Sometimes it's just me scrubbing something and Nasty sweeping.

I wondered about the higher prices. The high cost of oil and fuel has bumped up prices on lots of stuff.
