Hi, I'm not very familiar with khukuri knives - only what I've read on the HI website which was very interesting and some of the postings here. I'm more familiar with bowie knives. FYI, I saw a set made by the Kami Bura on ebay. Those of you who collect, looks real nice and thought you'd like to know. Happy New Year!

Thanks for the heads up. This same one was offered a few weeks ago. If I remember correctly this is owned by a fellow forum member (he made the case it's in anyway).
The mark on the knife is a bit interesting to me..it has both Bura's crescent moon as well as Sher's rising sun. Perhaps it was a joint effort or maybe it was just miss marked.

The last three HI blades I've bought were made by Bura and all had the same moon/sun markings. So unless the two kamis are collaborating on every blade, it looks like something that Bura is doing on his own.

It's not the sun/moon markings that is the issue.
The four point sun is Himalayan Imports
The moon is Bura.
On this blade the Bura moon is overlaid over the Sher half/rising sun.
The question was Why? and who did this?
