I've been making knives as a hobby and wanted to know what some more experienced smith's out there would suggest as far as pursuing this as a supplemental income I'm a farrier full time

As a farrier, you have a job that involves working hot metal. That is a plus. You also have customers that use knives. I would continue making knives as a hobby and have a small display of available knives with you when you go to a shoeing job. Let it happen slowly as you get more known.
Also, if your quality is good, doing a few shows a year will get your name out there.

Show us some examples of your knives so we can see what level you are at.

The most important thing is to keep you career job as a farrier going so it can support your knife hobby. It is a rare few who actually make any real profit from knifemaking.

Fill out your profile and tell us a bit about yourself.

Your question was general, so it is allowed, but posts about selling and making knives for sale is a privilege of a Knifemaker membership. Registered and basic users are not allowed to discuss these topics. You are quite welcome to show knives you make, as questions about making knives, etc. ... just leave sales talk out of those threads and posts.
