HI Tibetan Katana Sword Raffle for 4/14

Surely there are more who are interested.....?

How long did the last one take to complete?

Are we just impatient?:D

I'm interested but i'm also still broke and unemployed.
If the gub'mint would get off it's keester and send me mah munny i'd participate.
The last raffle filled out within 24 hrs, IIRC.
Yes you guys are impatient.

Hey... I'm magnanimous enough to make the gracious announcement of a willingness to buy two tickets!

In a way that is how it IS here at the home front. With Ed and I both being active both on purchase & post here in the forum when such a great cause comes up we both enter.
And we Totally understand the money thing. With Tax Time, and jobs being taken away, add on the problem of when jobs get taken away we see more on the job injuries because there is no one to help it makes things even tighter.
I have had family members make comments as to how we could possibly just throw away X$ for something like a raffle (funny thing, THESE HI raffles are the only ones we do!!) when things are so snug. So I bring up the Tithe that she make to the catholic church every weekend and on holidays. To me, I tell her, this is OUR way of doing the same. The only difference is that we know where it is going, and what it is being used for. It is our way of basically doing what millions of people do each Sat./Sun.

I wonder too... how many are away with kids on School vacation ???

Blessed Be!

You are right, it's a great cause whether one wins or loses.

I wonder why this raffle is taking SO much longer then last time to fill up . I mean, it was like the Great Rat Race last time with everyone trying to get a number.

We all know it's for a great cause... so come on.... bid off the cup of coffee & Bagel for 2 weeks, or give up going out to dinner one night.... and you've got the $25.00.

I know it's tight....

But think of it this way.... the kamis will get new tools, which will help them be able to do their job safer and therefore keep our wonderful kamis up and running for years to come!

Blessed Be!

Amen!

what I want to know is why she doesnt just make a tools for kamis donation thread, i know its been brought up before, and I also know that alot of us would be willing to help out the good people that supply us with our khukuri fix

Might have something to do with the idea that it's better for the recipient to make something for funds, instead of just receiving the funds. I remember Uncle Bill talking about the difference, years ago.

John,

I think You are absolutely right.

There are still people in this world that don't want to be donated money, unless they can offer something in return.

As for a link for donations...

What is the difference between a link for donations and a raffle put on by Yangdu & the Kamis??
What would it change?

Blessed Be,
Willow

I wonder if the thread title should be changed? I'm not sure what RTS means (possibly Ready to Ship?), but people may not realize it's a katana raffle. Also, since the date is getting stale, the thread may not be getting the attention it might otherwise.

Jim, you bring up a VERY good point. I know some knew what was going on, but for those that are new to the HI family, they may not know what is going on.

Yangdu, is it possible to change the title of the post, or re-post the raffle thread so it gets moved back up to the top of the list??

Blessed Be!
Willow

Hiya Kimon!
I have this feeling that You will get mail from Ms Yangdu letting You know the ticket # !
Good on Ya Mate for stepping up to the plate, so to speak... This is Really a Win-Win situation... The Kamis receive some Much needed funds for Shop/Tools/etc updates, and We Forumites continue to Enjoy the Superb Craftsmanship that the Kamis produce.
I just Love watching what New Items come along as the comments filter back to Nepal!!

I'm lucky #24

Hey Yangdu? Sent you a ticket payment via Paypal but didn't get a number. Can you check to see if you got my tix payment? If not, I'll resubmit through Paypal.

Edit: just checked Paypal. Appears accepted on 4/14 by Ang Martino.

Thanks!
