HI Villager Farm Knife

killa concept and warty: This is a great design. I really appreciate the opportunity to own the first one available. Hopefully this will become a regular offering so that all who wish may enjoy.

I am drawn to the unusual as far as firearms and blades are concerned, and this one appears to be a real beauty. I will post a review ASAP.

Again, thanks to all, especially Auntie and the Kamis. Smoke and prayers to Tej Kami

Verrry cool. It's cool to see other people's designs come to life. I had forgotten about the rambo 4 knife thing. It's much cooler in steel!

I sent a few bucks in for Tej myself, wish I could have sent more but it was all I had after the Cherokee Rose.
Now I am back to broke, so now you will see me watch a lot of things I wish I was sharking get bought up by Cotherion. he he
Good for him too since he never gets much chance to get the stuff with the difference in times...

I love the design Killa, its almost like a short Dao influenced hacker...I would buy one in a heartbeat.

I'm really liking how thick it is too... from earlier pictures on this thread by Aunty, I was thinking it was more around a ~1/4" spine (perhaps less). I didn't really give any scale in my original sketch as I was just toying around with some concepts and some ideas from fellow members - I wasn't at all expecting it to get adapted into an actual knife! Considering that Kami Tirtha was going off nothing but that drawing, he really stayed true to the design and filled in the necessary blanks himself (to great effect). I'd say that 3/8" is the perfect thickness for this blade... just enough mass to make for a good chop, while not being so thick that the edge profile makes it difficult to do finer tasks.

Buuuuut - I guess that's all just speculation. I'll have to wait a month or two to confirm. Can you tell I'm antsy and already in a "want-to-review-it" mode? ;)

Do you have one on order killa? I'd hate to run over you in my rush to get one of these since I remember you were instrumental in this model's development. Personally, I'm kind of amazed that they got one produced as quick as they did. Whaddaya think, have they been making these before or something?

No worries mate! From what I understand, Auntie will have one set aside for me in the next shipment, which will more than likely include a couple more of these knives (don't quote me on that though). If not, we'll just play it by ear and not fret over what happens :)

And yes - it was rather surprising how quickly these got produced. One second we were discussing the idea and the next, Aunty had decided to have a couple made up based on my drawing. Two weeks after that and there were already a couple made! Then just a little short of 2 months since the drawing was sketched up and we already have the first model sold - Pretty crazy!

If they make a few in villager or full polish I'd be ordering one without a doubt.

Congrat's to all who have contributed to this design coming to life.

Personally, I don't want it in full polish. I love it just like it is and really hope, like killa, to be reviewing one soon.

I like it, but I'd like it better if it were longer, and had less curvature.

Keep this on as is, and make a sword version. :D

Thanks mate. If it were a longer sword-like version, I think I'd opt for a very long handle to get a lot of grip and nice leverage. I'd keep a good bit of curvature, but lessen it down from this one

Uh-oh, you've got me thinking :p

Spectre, you mean like the indonesian swords that come thru here now and then? They look exactly like what you are describing.

Kev

I am hoping to get one of those Indonesian Swords one day.
Don't need no fancy dragons engraved on it or any of that either, just a big, square blade so I can lop off Zombie heads.
